The Other Haringey

A trip across this borough of two halves – I was drawn to Ally Pally by the compost giveaway today. That turned out to be a bit oversubscribed 😦

I’d not been round the back of the Pally before and found just how close it’s possible to live to this lovely site. I wonder how many of our esteemed Labour councillors live in these roads?

Ally Pally has Capital Gardens, one of the best, albeit expensive, garden centres, within reach.

These new hollies are, L to R, Ilex aquifolium ‘Argentea Marginata’, Ilex aquifolium ‘Silver Queen’, Ilex meserveae Blue Princess.  Hollies are dioecious,  i.e. each plant has only female or male flowers, so for berries I need both. I like their different leaf colours and textures which should make a nicely mixed hedge to surprise the burglars as they make their way up and over.
